Ojos verdes

From my first infatuation —shaped by the image of a hooded, enigmatic man who appeared on Mexican television news in the 1990s, fighting for the southern jungle— to the knowledge and wisdom of my grandmother, who spoke to me of the healing powers of plants:

a spoken work - our spoken word -

Weaving languages and desires to honour the bridges between plant knowledge and our own, intertwining us like mirrors; like encounters that might yet save us…

I like to dream of the possibility of inhabiting Cuautitlán*, of honouring our vegetal ties, and, in the language of a bird, finding an opening toward other ways of inhabiting Planet Earth.
